Proper certification is a must for all coaches on the bench so Associations need to be sure that their coaches are attending coaching clinics.  There were several coaches this past season that did not have the proper level of certification and who applied for a one-time temporary card.  Those coaches must be properly certified this season as the temporary card is a "one in a lifetime" card.

Two level 4 clinics wil most likely be held in 2008: one in Arizona and one in Dallas.

All coaches are required to wear helmets while on the ice and Associations need to better police the rule since there has been some resistance to wearing the helmets, it is simply for the safety of the coaches.
