Texas Amateur Hockey Association

As you may not know, USA Hockey provides players with certain achievement awards, which TAHA would like to insure that each player who has earned an award actually receives it. The three types of awards are noted below. It should be pointed out that a player can only receive one type of patch in a single season.

• Hat Trick patch for any player who scores 3 goals in a single USA Hockey sanctioned game
• Playmaker patch for any player who records 3 assists in a single USA Hockey sanctioned game
• Shut Out patch for any goalie who records a shut out in a single USA Hockey sanctioned game

In order to receive a patch, a copy of the scoresheet showing the achievement needs to be sent to the TAHA registrar. It would be appreciated if the scoresheets were sent monthly with a cover page that details who earned what. Upon receipt of the scoresheet and cover page, the TAHA Registrar will send the awards back to the team or association rep at the appropriate address on file. In addition, it would be very helpful if an association could combine all such awards on a monthly basis, but it is not mandatory to do so for all their teams.  Submissions should be done by the team manager or coach and the patches will be mailed back to the team manager or coach, not the player directly.
